Privacy Policy

Shiven Vastu ("we", "us", "the App") is operated by Shiven Infotech, India. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect when you use the App, how we use it, who we share it with, and your rights.
1. Information we collect
1.1 Information you provide
- Account details — name, email address, phone number, password (stored hashed), date of birth (optional), gender (optional).
- Property details — floor plan sketches, room descriptions, plot dimensions, compass orientation, and Vastu placements you assign.
- Photos and uploads — sketches, room photos, and documents (PDF/DOCX/TXT) you upload for AI floor-plan generation.
- Profile / personalisation — language preference, professional profile (for subscribers), address (optional).
1.2 Information collected automatically
- Device data — device model, OS version, app version, language, time zone.
- Usage data — pages opened, features used, anonymous error logs.
- Compass / sensor data — used live while you lock the plot's north direction; not stored beyond the locked angle.
1.3 Information from third parties
- Astrology providers (Prokerala, VedicRishi, mPanchang) — when you view Panchang or Muhurat, we pass the requested date/location to the provider.
- AI services (OpenAI) — when you generate a floor plan from a sketch or description, or run AI Vastu analyses, the relevant inputs are sent to OpenAI for processing.
We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
2. How we use your information
- Providing the core App features (floor plan generation, Vastu analysis, predictions, remedies, reports, expert bookings, chat).
- Personalising your experience (recently viewed plans, preferred language, saved predictions).
- Sending account communications (OTP codes, booking confirmations, important service notices).
- Improving the App (aggregated analytics, anonymous error reports).
- Complying with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your floor plans or photos to train any general-purpose AI model.
3. Sharing your information
We share data only with the following parties, and only as needed:

We never share your data with advertisers or data brokers.
4. Data retention
- Account data — kept while your account is active and for up to 30 days after deletion request, then permanently erased.
- Floor plans + reports — retained until you delete them.
- Chat & booking history — retained 18 months for dispute resolution.
- Aggregated analytics — anonymised; kept indefinitely.
5. Security
- All traffic between the App and our servers uses HTTPS (TLS 1.2+).
- Passwords are stored using bcrypt hashing.
- Database is encrypted at rest on MongoDB Atlas.
- API access uses short-lived JWT tokens with refresh-token rotation.
- Razorpay handles all payment card data; we never see or store card numbers.
No system is 100% secure. We will notify you within 72 hours of any breach that affects your personal data.
6. Your rights
- Access — download your account data from Profile → Account.
- Correct — edit your profile, addresses, predictions in-app.
- Delete — request account deletion from /delete-account or from Profile → Delete account in the app, or email support@shivenvaastu.com.
- Object / restrict processing — email us with your request.
- Data portability — your PDF Vastu reports and floor plan data can be exported.
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you have additional rights as Data Principal. To exercise any right, contact us (see §9).

8. Vastu disclaimer
The Vastu analysis, predictions, remedies, and AI consultant chat provided by the App are based on classical Vastu Shastra principles and AI interpretation. They are advisory in nature and not a substitute for consultation with a qualified Vastu consultant, structural engineer, or other licensed professional.

10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced in-app at least 14 days before they take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top of this document always reflects the current version.
